R.A.W stands for Random Art Workshop. it is a place for anyone to express oneself through art. Look at these little Lolipop-Pie! Grab and go, little sweet treat for yourself without having to feel guilty about. and how pretty is that avocado and crab meat salad??? Thieves Market/ Flea Market?

Its no secret that I love thrift/ vintage shopping around in Hong Kong. But it is SO hard to come by a good one, because new and brand name stuff are just more appealing to the people here... there are lots of fake-vintage shops (s e l e c t 1 8 ? !) that rip you off for fake-one-of-a-kind pieces, and that's why i was SO thrilled when i found this place "King" (I don't even know if that's their actual name, because the sign says "King - electronics and miscellaneous", but since it is what it says on the sign I will just call it that) on Lok Ku Road which is one block north of Upper Lascar Row (aka Cat Street) in Mid Levels Sheung Wan.

King offers real vintage clothing, accessories, shoes, and more! If you are a vintage fan like me, I assure you that you will not be disappointed. See their piles of clothes and boxes of shoes, purse, accessories...one draw back though, it is not actually a store, it is more like a stall on the sidewalk, so be prepared for a steaming hot shopping experience. Also make sure you make a trip to the stores nearby which mostly sell antique furniture and home decorations, lotsssss of hidden gems! Oh, and you know the rule -

slash 50% off from the original price and start from there. You get the idea. Yup, just like what you will do at select 18 or at Chatuchak flea market in Thailand... (Actually, for these two, you start from 70%...)

Some Fun Facts:
Many years ago, the Upper Lascar Row was well known as the place to buy stolen goods. People always say that if you had something lost, it is almost certain that you find it there for sale back. Of course it does not work this way now, but that just adds a little interesting history to it and made it even more attractive.

Some might say that it is best to keep a vintage piece at its original form, others found it better to rework the vintage piece a little bit to fit into the current fashion moment or make it ultra special and unique. RSVP is obviously the master in the latter mentioned. They do no regular rework (i.e. take up the hem, chop off the sleeves.. etc), what they do is at couture level - taking the best parts of different vintage pieces and put them back together in one piece... like a beaded amulet from a 1920 gown sewn onto a 1970 mesh fabric...or vintage lace from 1910's and 1920's attached to a 1930's gown... Here is a collection from RSVP specially designed for Shrimpton Couture. Gorgeous gorgeous pieces.

Etail giant ASOS has once again teamed up with London College of Fashion to select 100 winning pieces of student's designs to be sold on the site this Friday - July 3rd.

All 100 pieces are going to be unique and one off! Tian Wang was the overall winner this year, the digital print collection from her was an instant love by the judging team including Designer Markus Luper, Tim Soar and my favorite blogger Susanna Lau aka Susie bubble.

I love everything Italian. The people (they are all so pretty), the food (pasta is my favorite food in the whole world), the food network show "everyday Italian"(I'm so bummed that I can't watch it online here in HK because of some stupid out-of-region connection issues) and the language (I've been planning to learn Italian since i was 12 but never really picked it up except "Ciao" and "cin cin" (yeah I do drink a lot)...

I discovered this fairly new HK based Fashion lifestyle blog - adocchiare through image surfing on internet and came across my very own pic. adocchiare means to eye; to covet in Italian. I had a peek at their archives and it's all top notch stuff about clothes, food and art. It's a l.o.v.e.

adocchiare snapped me in mah vintage feather dress, urban outfitters belt, vintage banana republic clutch, vintage "B" necklace, H&M shoes.

Summer Fur?

Just last week, i saw a girl in HK wearing a mini A&F esque skirt + T-shirt, and A PAIR OF UGGS. If you know how hot it is in HK, you'll know why I'm like, all CAPS here... It's a hundred degrees outside, and this girl is wearing UGGS. HK is no LA, it does not get cooler in the summer nights, and its frigging humid. I joked about it with my friend saying perhaps she should might as well throw on a fur... So when I see this SHAGGY-FUR-MONGOLIAN-VEST-GILET, I was sooo exceited because wearing fur in the summer is actually doable!

Except it's not real fur... its actually loosley knit out of wool instead. But to the hell with it. I get the look.. I get the look. I think this has just out beat the other 2 and top mah wishlist of this week...

Wear the vest like this girl and you are golden. How hot is she?

So when i learned this Starbucks x G.O.D collaboration of "Bing Sutt x Starbucks concepts" opened up on Duddell Street, I HAD to come...

I NEED this beaded curtains in my face, like, RIGHT NOW. (and i certainly don't mind to have that vintage tile flooring installed in my bathroom...)
